Terms of service

These terms cover your use of BotuSign, an electronic signature service. By creating an organization, sending an agreement, or signing one, you agree to them.

What BotuSign does

BotuSign lets a sender prepare a PDF, send it to the people who need to sign, and keep the signed copy with an audit certificate. A sender can be a person or software acting for a person, such as an AI agent using an API key. The sender is responsible for everything sent with their account or keys.

Signers

People who sign are never charged. Signing is by choice: a signer agrees to do business electronically, then draws or types a signature and finishes. A signer can decline instead. BotuSign records the consent, the time, the IP address and browser, and a tamper-evident log of each step.

What a signature here is, and is not

BotuSign is built around the U.S. ESIGN Act and UETA. It is not a qualified electronic signature under eIDAS, it is not notarization, and it does not verify anyone's identity beyond control of the email address the link was sent to. Some documents cannot be signed electronically, for example wills and certain family, real estate and court documents. Deciding whether a document may be signed this way is the sender's job. Your content

You keep ownership of the documents you upload. You give BotuSign permission to store, process and deliver them so the service works. Do not upload anything you have no right to send, anything unlawful, or malware. We can remove content or suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk.

Plans and billing

Starter is $9 per sender per month. Company is $99 per month for an organization. Org is $1,100 per month for an organization. Plans renew monthly through Stripe until canceled, and a canceled plan stays active to the end of the period already paid. A new envelope counts once, at its first send. Revisions and resends of the same envelope are free through round 200. Agent envelopes past a plan's monthly allowance cost $0.10 each and are added to your next invoice. Prices are in U.S. dollars and may change with notice before your next renewal.

Promo code AUSTEN gives 3 free days on the Org plan, once per organization and once per person, with no card needed to start. If no card is added before the trial ends, the trial ends and nothing is charged. If a card is added, the plan continues at the plan price.

Availability and responsibility

We work to keep BotuSign running and your records safe, but the service is provided as is, without a warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Back up anything you cannot lose by downloading signed copies. To the extent the law allows, BotuSign is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and its total liability for a claim is limited to what you paid for the service in the three months before it.

Ending your use

You can stop at any time by canceling your plan. You can ask us to delete your organization's data, except records we must keep by law. We may suspend or end service for abuse or non-payment.
